Safety Quest - Grade 2 & 3
Unlocking New Skills Level 2: Grade 2 & 3
Service Description
Level 2 Objective: A Focus on Road Safety and More – With Bikes! This year, we’re excited to bring some fantastic updates to our Level 2 curriculum! After removing bikes from Level 1, we’re reintroducing them in Level 2, giving students the chance to focus on cycling safety along with other important safety lessons. In addition, we’re expanding the curriculum to cover sun safety, ensuring students have a well-rounded understanding of how to stay safe in different situations. In Level 2, students will: - Cycling Safety: Learn how to fit a helmet properly, ride safely on the road, and follow cycling rules. (Bikes are back!) - Fire Escape Plans: Practice creating and rehearsing family fire escape plans to know how to react in emergencies. - Emergency Response with Ambulance Paramedics: Join an interactive first aid and emergency response session with the Ambulance Paramedics of BC. - Sun Safety: Understand the importance of sun protection, such as wearing sunscreen and staying hydrated. By the end of Level 2, students will receive their Safety 360 Completion Stamp, a symbol of their ability to apply these important safety skills in everyday situations. With cycling safety added to the curriculum and new lessons on sun safety, students will be better prepared for the world around them!
